A BRIEF HISTORY
It all started with just one bungalow
– but 29 years on property management and letting company Philip
Evans Estates is a real success story.
Philip Evans and his wife Bethan currently manage approximately 300
properties with around 800 tenants.
Philip Evans started the property business in 1980 when he purchased
just one bungalow for rental in Comins Coch.
To concentrate on the business, Mr Evans took voluntary redundancy
from the plant breeding station in 1985 after 17 years’ service. He
met his wife Bethan soon after, and the couple then purchased many
further properties in the Aberystwyth area for rental purposes and
the business started to grow.
“Vast experience was gained in the early years with first hand
knowledge of property investment maintenance and letting,” said Mr
Evans.
Then in 1990 Philip Evans started an agency for landlords and
tenants, offering to look after properties in the locality.
They were operating then from a single room office at 44 Portland
Street, in Aberystwyth. But the business growth was such that extra
office space was soon needed, and the existing offices at 22
Chalybeate St in the town were purchased and renovated.
After total refurbishment the office opened in May 2000, offering a
personal, professional service to landlords and tenants.
Mr Evans added: “Aberystwyth is a university town with about 9,000
students, many big employers, and with great demand at all levels
for rental – from single rooms in shared houses through to executive
lets for doctors, professors, bank managers, etc.”
Philip Evans Estates also offers a first-hand property consultancy
for investment, letting and management, with a fully qualified
maintenance back-up. “We appreciate the loyal support”.
Mr Evans says that they are getting constant enquiries from
prospective property purchasers. So, to accommodate the demand,
Philip Evans Estates are planning to use their vast property
experience from the last 29 years to expand as selling agents.
“We will be offering an efficient property sales service for the
Aberystwyth area, to compliment our existing Spanish property sales
in the Alicante/Murcia region of Costa Blanca in Spain,” said Mr
Evans “Our Spanish property sales business has been very busy over
the last four years, and we are sure local property sales will be
just as successful”.
The Philip Evans Estates office is modern, double fronted and
well-situated in a central position in Aberystwyth.
Philip & Bethan Evans are in the office most days, and are assisted
by Office Manager Julie Morgan and Sian Evans.
The business is bilingual, offering a personal efficient service,
with the back-up of modern technology.
